In spite of recent efforts to promote gender equality in the workplace, women continue to find it hard to balance work and family. In many countries, women are expected to be best at everything. Being the best mother, the best employee, the best partner, and the best homemaker is unrealistic. They seem to leave no time for looking after themselves. It is also harder for them to get ahead in their careers. A lack of work-life balance can cause women a lot of stress because they are trying to be successful at work as well as in other areas of their life, and this can affect their health and relationships. Poor balance between work and personal life also hurts the employees who may lose interest and leave their jobs quickly.

Fortunately, manypanies recognise that both men and women should take care of family matters. They offer suitable working hours to remainpetitive, let their female staff work from home, and build up a healthy workplace which doesn't force people to work long hours.
